Thank you, Kate, Crim, Izzy, and anyone I might be missing for your comments and hugs for the past few entries. I’m sorry for not e-mailing you, Kate – it’s been really hectic here. *hugs* Again, thank you for the offer.
Sometime during this week, multiple utilities are likely going to be shut off on us. The phone company gave us 24 hours from today to pay our phonebill, which is hilarious, since they’re closed today and tomorrow. The power company intends to shut off our gas and electricity on the 28th. Monday, Mom is going in to try and get assistance to pay at least the Power Company. They are demanding $140 to keep them from shutting us off and about $480 to turn us back on after the fact. That is nearly four weeks worth of paychecks at the amount we’re raking in at this moment. So, unless the Family Independence Agency can help us, we’re probably going to be on a long hiatus. I have no idea how I’ll keep Echo warm and clean without power or heat… *sighs* She’s still tiny enough that anything under 68F is a touch too chilly for her, especially at night. Right now she sleeps in a cat carrier with a heating pad in it. I can’t bring her to bed… she’s still small enough that I’m terrified to sleep with her in my bed for fear of rolling on to her and crushing her. She’s also still smearing her food all over herself when she eats, so she needs at least one good bath a day and a good wipedown after every meal. After the good bath, I have to blow her dry to make certain she doesn’t get too cold. -_- So here’ hoping the FIA can help us… Us big folks are used to the cold, in fact we were turning the heat clear down to 58F at night before we got the kitten.
On happier news, Echo is growing well. She’s gained weight and is now beginning to get the evening crazies. (In fact, she’s using my back as a jungle gym right now! XD) She’s begun taking tiny jumps and hops; loves exploring and climbing pant legs. That silly kitten also has an impressive set of pipes! XD I swear! Although I named her “Echo” for far more sentimental and deep reasons to reference back to our past pets; she’s so loud one of these days I expect to hear an echo after she meows. She’s using her litter box well, but she still hasn’t figured out where it is. ^_^;; She gets three-quarters of the way there and then can’t figure out which doorway it is. Once you get her inside the door she knows exactly what to do. She’s also up to four hours between feedings, so we’re giving her a little more food and decreasing the number of feedings. Echo is also responding to her name too *grins*
*hugs* Izzy, you’re right, having a kitten IS like having a child – but she’s precious to me. She’ll never take Sugar’s place, but God sent me one special little, kitten to fill that void.
(Great, now I’m crying again. >_>)
I’m beginning to contemplate making design sets, like blog layouts, and selling them for a dollar or two. Then again, I’ve barely had any interest in working on my own blog layout – let alone other people’s. Might be something for once we move and I get out of this state of depression I’ve been in.
Anyway, while I’ve been so absent lately I’m not sure anyone would notice, but I wanted to let everyone know that we might be vanishing even more.
