Layout Complete

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

I guess this layout is as complete as it’s going to get. I need to move on to the rest of my project.

I don’t think I can take another 3am bedtime tonight, so I’m going to call it quits. There are still some things that need to be finished, like the blog comments, but I’ve been chasing CSS bugs for most of the day.

I also added screenshots of my eFiction skins and moved a few of my eFiction mods to their posts here. Next thing I have to do is figure out how I’m going to display my portfolio and other items in that section. I wonder if links to DeviantArt would be appropriate? I tried nearly every gallery plugin and they were so buggy, I didn’t want to mess with them anymore.

Next up, I need to format my resume so it will work in an online format. And finally, I think I should be done.

Yeah, I know this whole rush is partially my fault. I slacked off over at Gaia Online’s Official Naruto thread for most of this class, instead of working ahead so this wouldn’t happen to me.

Oh well, I guess. Someday, I’ll learn.

Time flies when you design

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Ugh, it’s amazing how quickly a night goes when you have homework due and the deadline is ticking down. ^^;

It’s suddenly 3:00am. I swear just 20 minutes ago it was midnight.

I found the coolest plugin, so now I can host all my modifications here too. I already have Last Visit 3.0 done. So that’s going to be really cool.

Anyway, please bear with me. I have some final things to fix tomorrow and this layout should be complete.

Changing things around

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

I’m using this site for my final project for my portfolio class. Since I’m majoring in web design / development, my portfolio needs to be online or in another medium that’s easily shared. I really don’t feel like having a third site I need to keep track of, so redo this one it is.

Stuck on the design, but there isn’t too much I can do on getting a good photo right now. I need to get an ecommerce design done too much the end of next week.

Fun fun.

Unexpected expense

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Oh, good. Just a couple more days and I’m done with speech class. Thank God! With luck, I should never have to attend another one. Don’t get me wrong, the class went fine. It’s the technology, the constant assignments, and everything else.

Today, I ended up having to burn $89 I was saving on one of my insulins (Lantus). I lost my medicaid on New Years day and to be honest, until today, I really didn’t mind. Medicaid was giving me nothing but grief anyway. But holy crap -! $89 God, burning that much money on such a tiny vial of liquid.

Y’know, world, a new pair of jeans would be nice, so would a pair of shoes. Maybe a new jacket, I’m wearing the same winter coat I did back when I was 18. Hey — here’s a revolutionary idea — howzabout a suit I could interview in? POOF. Insulin.

Yeah, I know… it’s stupid to be crying over this. I need insulin to survive. I can live without clothes. In another week or so, I should be getting a student refund check in the mail. I know this is just PMS making me feel all weird over something as stupid as this.

But now I just want to cry.

Blogorrhea

Still obsessed with Naruto.

Still very short on money, especially now that I have to pay for my insulin out of pocket. ^^;

Figured out how to add a few things into the site, namely program the deadline function for challenges.

Overall, nothing new to report.

Unhelpful speech idea

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Trying to get my sales speech written and I had a great idea. Unfortunately, it’s not something that’s going to be helpful in this assignment.

A speech regarding creating fanfiction archives. ^^; Probably once I have my speech written, I’ll type it out and submit it to Luna. But I had an idea complete with visual aids and stuff. It would be a great one to give at a con someday.

LOL Until then, I have to stop procrastinating and get my outlines and visual aids for my sales speech done so I can give it tomorrow.

New level of anime geek

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Oh yes, I have stooped to a whole new low of Naruto fangirlishness. For kicks, I made a vector version of the skill wheel found in the Japanese Naruto databooks.

I even got translations so each of the points has the correct label. And then? I figured out the skill levels for my fan characters. Oh yes, I am bad. And then Jass did his team (the ones in his ficlet “The Mission”) too.

And then? While we were on a roll, we did our favorite canon characters using the databooks.

I don’t think it gets much worse than this, ladies and gentlemen. ^^;

Yes, we didn’t have class today.
Yes, we are bored while waiting for chapter 338.
And yes, we are in the upper echelons of geekdom.

(If anyone wants a blank copy of my wheel, you’ll have to ask me for it. I’ve been encountering a bit too many rips and art theft lately to just pop it up.)

*GLOMP* And I completely forgot to mention this, but we loved the postcard, Ook! *super tackle glomps*

Domain back

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Well, Lunaescence.com is back… and I couldn’t be more depressed. And I’m not sure why. Sure, I’ve been depressed the whole time it’s been down, but now I’m even more depressed.

It may just be the realization that the progress my site had made was brought to a crashing halt. It may also be the knowledge that now I don’t have time to do any of the things I wanted to do with my site. The final semester has started and I now have to buckle down and find that internship and finish up these last things before graduation.

I don’t know.

I’m mad because the site could have been up yesterday (Saturday), but I didn’t feel like walking down to get the mail. Heck, I didn’t even want to leave the house.

Which brings me to a rant: What is it with us and bad neighbors??

*sigh* Friday, we believe our neighbors deliberately turned both their pair of mastiffs loose. They’ve come right out and admitted that Judge, the big male, is vicious. He’s bitten someone twice now, attempted to bite our neighbor once. I spent much of Friday hiding in the house while animal control attempted to capture Judge.

That damned thing actually charged the animal control truck and wouldn’t let them officer get out. The officer eventually managed to coax the little female mastiff (which shockingly seems to be nice and even-tempered) to jump into the cab of the truck on her own, but then proceeded to sit there until backup arrived.

They finally managed to capture Judge and carted him away to the pound.

Anyway, the reason we think they did it on purpose is because the husband (or whatever he is) turned out to actually be home. The little female was loose first, but we didn’t know if she was vicious like Judge, so we stayed inside. I looked outside at one point and watched the guy walk right past the dog, get into his truck, and speed away. Less than 10 minutes later, I look back out and see Judge.

Oh. No.

I’m not scared of big dogs, but I’m scared to death of Judge. I really hate to say it because I love animals, but I hope he’s put down before he seriously hurts someone.

So anyway… Saturday morning, Jass walked down to get the mail, but none of us felt like doing anything. So when mail came that afternoon… it sat there until Mom went to give our statement to our landlords.

Final Paper

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

I have a bad case of procrastination when it comes to my final paper for WRI 115. I simply do not want to do it.

I started off in college so well, but now I’m back to my usual habits. Oh well, last minute turn-in like everything else.

To Do List

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Okay, since I *think* I’ll have Christmas break to get some things done, here’s my tentative to-do list.

  1. Finish eFiction Skinning Tutorial.
  2. Finish Luna’s copy of Shuriken
  3. Help Jass fix the Pink skin
  4. Help Jasson program the new features.
  5. I’d like to do something with my blog here.
  6. Maybe do another new skin for Luna if I have time.

I’m just not sure how much I’m going to get done. Some of these projects are going to take a while. eFiction 3.0 is still awful buggy, though. We might push the upgrade and programming back a while to give the live version a chance to settle down. I don’t think Jass or I have the time anymore to redo our mods a million times like we did for 2.0 when it came out.

Since I’m directing more and more people here to pick up eFiction stuff, I really should redo the blog with my career in mind too. I’m going to have my resume and portfolio here, so I need to redo. Even though I made this layout for my final, I never quite finished it.

Jasson, though, has started to redo the Pink skin to address all the graphical bugs. If he and I worked diligently together like we did on Shuriken, we could have it done in a day. Ah, decisions, decisions.
