Starting the Weekend

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Last week was a real (insert favorite adjective here) at and 1st shift, as usual, had to end things on a particularly “high” note.

To begin with, I hadn’t had that good a week anyway. Seems every day someone was finding cause to yell at me. First there was the missing tails on the “4″ in the lettering on top of about 20 of the 3600 screwdrivers I’d made. (1st shift made it sound like it was everything I’d made.) Then, I refused to go over to the machine called “Cell 1″ and I’m in trouble. Because I’m was not going to clean up Sarah’s mess over at “Cell 1″, I’m in trouble. Then, I hadn’t made out some labels correctly and I’m in trouble yet again. Finally, I was assigned to sort through nut driver blades to search for rusty ones.

And 1st shift comes in to replace us and throws a royal tantrum. They don’t have time to sort through blades. I hadn’t sorted them correctly. There was nothing wrong with the ones I’d sorted. I don’t know what the problem was.

Oh, and we had snow. Lots and lots of snow. So it took about 45 minutes to get home, when it only usually takes about 15. (Maybe that’s why they had to be so awful.)

Anyroad, I’m sick to death of being yelled at.

Spent most of yesterday sleeping. Actually, I pretty much slept from 10am Friday until 8am Saturday minus an hour or two here and there for biological functions. I also hit iTunes pretty hard and downloaded some more Gackt, mucc, and Miyavi. During one of my awake periods, I downloaded the latest Naruto Shippuden episode and had a good laugh at Cap. Flashlight Face and Mr. Penis.

If I can ever get to the bank (nope, I still haven’t! XD) I’m placing an order with ThinkGeek and getting Kevin’s X-mas present (I hope he isn’t reading this!) and then finally getting my paid LiveJournal account.

In the meantime, I need to do a little yoga and see if I can lose the stiffness from sleeping almost 24 hours. Oops, and gotta get some groceries before the next snow storm arrives. ETA is in about 3 hours and counting.

Good News; Bad News

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I’m having one of those months where I’m just kind of “blah” about everything. My favorite character is back in the Naruto manga and I strangely can’t dredge up the energy to feel excited about it.

Anyway… good news: Everyone, including me, is now employed. I’m starting over at Kalfact Plastics tomorrow night. Mom works there, same shift, so there’s no extra gas being wasted to get me someplace else.

The bad news? It’s third shift. Well, depending on how you look at it, I guess. I’ve always been a night owl, now I just get to work through the night instead of aimlessly surfing or reading. I’ve just kind of been sitting here wondering “What on Earth have I gotten myself into?”

Good news: Three weeks left before summer break starts.

Bad news: I don’t think I can get any more burnt out on school. I do not want to do my homework, I don’t want to attend, I just don’t want to do it. I really hate my geography class, even though I’m doing really good. It’s just… troublesome. lol I learned APA format years, they hammered it in all my English classes here at Baker, but yet now I’m suddenly not doing it right according to this instructor. I’m doing it the way I was instructed to in all my English classes. *huff* I need the summer off, badly.

Gotta get the newsletter out for Lunaescece, this month it’s just going to be random. I don’t have the time to waste waiting for people to nominate things.

Mild frustrations

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

What is it with me and fandoms? First RW terminally pisses me off, now Naruto is edging that way for me.

There’s a few guys on the Official Naruto thread on Gaia Online who are so damned dogmatic it’s impossible to have a conversation or a debate about something or a character they don’t like. It’s the whole homogeneous opinion bullshit all over again. Wasting energy despising a fictional character too. If you disagree, it’s cause for personal insults and mocking in chat speak.

I really hate to pull back because it’s one of the only Gaia Online threads I’ve actually enjoyed for the most part. I know everywhere is going to have trolls, but it doesn’t mean I have to put up with it.

Anyway, no news on the job I applied for yet. That’s either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on my mood. The listing is still up, so it’s probably going to be a while. In other news, I got a whopping $600 of student refund money, so I think I’m going to buy Adobe Photoshop and maybe Illustrator. (Depends on if I can buy the student versions.) It might help me if I get to interview and say, “In anticipation for this position and to provide the best services possible, I began training in Photoshop and Illustrator.”

Narutofan frustrations

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I guess Theresa was right when she warned me that it’s like you have to prove something in order to successfully join the forums at Narutofan. And I just don’t have that kind of patience anymore.

I guess I’m sticking with Gaia Online and Luna for my forums.

Blogorrhea

Still obsessed with Naruto.

Still very short on money, especially now that I have to pay for my insulin out of pocket. ^^;

Figured out how to add a few things into the site, namely program the deadline function for challenges.

Overall, nothing new to report.

New level of anime geek

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Oh yes, I have stooped to a whole new low of Naruto fangirlishness. For kicks, I made a vector version of the skill wheel found in the Japanese Naruto databooks.

I even got translations so each of the points has the correct label. And then? I figured out the skill levels for my fan characters. Oh yes, I am bad. And then Jass did his team (the ones in his ficlet “The Mission”) too.

And then? While we were on a roll, we did our favorite canon characters using the databooks.

I don’t think it gets much worse than this, ladies and gentlemen. ^^;

Yes, we didn’t have class today.
Yes, we are bored while waiting for chapter 338.
And yes, we are in the upper echelons of geekdom.

(If anyone wants a blank copy of my wheel, you’ll have to ask me for it. I’ve been encountering a bit too many rips and art theft lately to just pop it up.)

*GLOMP* And I completely forgot to mention this, but we loved the postcard, Ook! *super tackle glomps*

Naruto: Kurama Arc (203 – 207)

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

I’ll try not to reveal too many spoilers, but this post does contain some information and my very biased opinion regarding Naruto episodes 203 – 207.

I finally got the chance to check out the last episode of the latest Naruto filler arc. In a nutshell, it was what I’ve come to expect from a filler arc. I don’t know how else to better describe it. (more…)

Flamed… ?

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Did I… I just get flamed over on DeviantArt for expressing that I liked someone’s artwork?

I was tired from my homework last night and decided to go on the prowl for artwork of my favorite Naruto character, Shino.

I found one 100106 – shino. by The-Pie and added it to my favorites, commenting:

“Okay, I won’t say kawaii. How about :+fav:? =D”

And she responds that my comment has nothing to do with the picture itself and it “annoys the fuck out of [her].” Thing is, her comments are set to “critique discouraged” and there are a million juvenille comments on the picture. But a comment saying I was adding it to my favorites gets me flamed?

*sigh* People make my teeth itch.
